Membership terms

These terms apply to a Minesight membership, provided by Oversight Labs Limited (company number 17145488), 61 Rodney Street, Liverpool L1 9ER ("we").

The service

A membership gives the players you name access to one private Minecraft Java Edition server for as long as the membership is active. There are two servers: the family server for children aged 12 and under, and the teen server for players aged 13 to 17. Each plan covers a set number of players on one server. Every player needs their own genuine, paid Minecraft Java Edition account. Minesight is not an official Minecraft service and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.

Who can sign up

Memberships must be bought by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over, who is responsible for the players they add. Players on the family server must be aged 12 or under and players on the teen server must be aged 13 to 17. When a child turns 13 they move to the teen server.

Price and payment

The price list is shown before you sign up and is the same for everyone. We sometimes give free trials or complimentary memberships, for example to promote Minesight locally. Those give the same access as a paid plan, do not change the price anyone else pays, and a trial ends on the date we tell you unless you take out a paid plan. Each plan is a monthly price for up to the number of players it shows. Where a yearly option is shown, it is offered to everyone on the same terms. A launch offer, when one is shown on the sign up page, is open to everyone who signs up for that plan while it is shown: it takes a percentage off the first billing periods stated and the normal price applies after that. Payments are taken by Stripe on a recurring basis until you cancel. Your receipts and payment history are available from Stripe and from the membership management link.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the membership management link. Access ends when the paid period ends, and your players are then removed from the server's guest list. Under consumer law you may cancel within 14 days of signing up. If you ask us to start straight away and then cancel within those 14 days, we may keep a fair amount for the time already used. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Extras

Extras are optional cosmetic items and event entries for a player who already has a membership. They are bought by a parent or guardian, at the same price for every member, in one of two ways: on this website, or by a request your child makes in game that you approve (see "Requests made in game" below). Nothing is ever charged because a child typed a command. Each extra has fixed contents shown before you pay, gives no gameplay advantage, and is not a random or chance based item. An extra stays with the player for as long as their membership is active on that server; it does not carry over to the other server. If a world is reset we will restore paid extras. Because an extra is digital content that is delivered straight away, you are asked to agree to delivery at once, and the 14 day right to cancel then no longer applies once it is delivered. If an extra is not delivered, email us and we will deliver it or refund it.

Requests made in game

If you switch on in game requests, your child can ask for an extra by typing a command in game. We then email you the item, the player and the price. The card you saved on Stripe's page is charged that price once, and only after you tap approve in that email. If you do not respond within the time shown in the email, the request lapses and nothing is charged. You choose a monthly limit and we will not process approved extras above it. You can change the limit, switch the feature off or remove the card at any time from the link in any Minesight email, and cancelling your membership switches it off. By saving a card you agree to Oversight Labs Limited charging it for requests you have approved, without you being present at the moment of payment. We keep a record of your agreement, including the wording shown, the date and the limit. If a payment fails you are sent a secure payment page instead and the extra is delivered only once it is paid. The same 14 day rule for extras described above applies to extras bought this way.

Free trials and complimentary access

Players added on a free trial or a complimentary basis follow the same house rules and the same age ranges as paid players. A trial or complimentary membership can be ended by us at any time if the house rules are broken. A trial player's extras stay with them only while their access is active.

House rules

Players must be kind, must not grief or steal other players' builds, must not share personal information in chat, and must not use cheats or hacked clients. Anyone can report a concern on the report page. An automatic chat monitor reads chat on the servers to warn players about bad language and personal information, to answer commands such as !help, and to flag worrying messages to an adult. It cannot hide messages and it does not replace the house rules or the operator. We may remove a player who breaks these rules. For a serious or repeated breach we may end the membership.

Availability and backups

We aim to keep the server running at all times and back up the world daily, but the server may be unavailable for maintenance or updates. We cannot guarantee that builds will never be lost.

Changes

We will tell you by email before any change to the price or these terms takes effect.
