Privacy notice
Oversight Labs Limited (company number 17145488), 61 Rodney Street, Liverpool L1 9ER, is the controller of the personal data used to run Minesight and is responsible for its protection.
What we collect
- The parent's email address, to run the membership and send receipts.
- Which plan you chose, a confirmation that each player is in the server's age range, your invite code and, if you joined through a link, the code of the member who invited you.
- Extras bought for a player: which item, which player and server, the amount and when it was delivered.
- Reports sent through the report page, including any email address you give so we can reply.
- The Minecraft Java Edition usernames and their public account identifiers, to control who can join the server.
- In game activity the server records, such as connections and chat, to keep the server safe.
- Chat messages that our automatic chat monitor flags (for example bad language, personal details or a worrying phrase), with the player's username, the time and the reason. These are kept for 30 days, unless a report needs them for longer.
- Requests a player makes in game for an extra, with the item, the price and your decision.
- If you save a card for in game requests: Stripe keeps the card. We keep only a reference to it, the card brand and last four digits, your monthly limit, and a record of your agreement (the wording, the date and the limit).
- Where a player was added on a free trial or complimentary basis: the label we gave them, their username, the end date, a contact email for the adult and a short note. For players we add, a date of birth is used only to move a player to the right server at the right age.
- Which link or channel brought you to the site (for example a flyer), recorded as a short word with your sign up, so we can see what works. It is not used to track you across other sites.
- Payment details are collected and held by Stripe, not by us. We receive only the payment status.
Why we use it
To provide the membership you asked for (contract), and to keep children safe on the server and handle complaints (legitimate interests). We send Minesight news by email only if you ticked the optional box, and you can stop it at any time. We do not sell data or use it for advertising. If you join through a link that belongs to a named supporter, we record which link, and add the amount of your payments, less payment fees, to a total for that supporter. That total does not show who you are, your players or your email address.
Who we share it with
Stripe, for payments and for saving a card. Our email provider, which delivers the emails we send you, such as approval requests and receipts. Mojang's public profile service is checked to confirm a username belongs to a real Java Edition account. We do not send chat messages to any other company.
Children's data
We collect only what is needed to run the server safely. Parents sign up and pay, and children are never asked for an email address. You can ask to see or delete everything we hold about a child at any time.
How long we keep it
Membership details are kept while the membership is active and for up to six years afterwards for accounting records. Unfinished sign ups are deleted within 48 hours. Safety reports are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and to keep records of how we handled them. Flagged chat messages are deleted after 30 days. Server logs are kept for a limited period for safety. Records of in game requests are kept for a year, and the record of your card agreement for as long as the card is saved and your payment records are kept.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it is used, by emailing info@oversightlab.ai. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
